Plans are underway to turn a derilict cottage into a heritage centre for the village. It is hoped that it will act as a point of contact for villagers and visitors alike and will provide an educational base for our history and heritage.   Planning permission has been applied for and a sub committee formed to work out how the project can best be funded. Initially we thought to rent the site from the owners, but it now appears that an outright purchase offers the community and the owner a better deal.

The Plans

Deuchars CottageThe old building has been empty for too long and is a complete eyesore in the middle of the village. It could be turned into another holiday home, but the community feels that it would be much better as a focul point for visitors and residents alike. The owners have promised not to sell the building while the Association raises the funds

Dangerous cornercars in middle of road on blind cornerThe fence is to be removed and a new footpath constructed linking the public carpark with the Square and improving safety on the corner. As anyone who knows the area, meeting a logging lorry as you walk up the brae is no fun at all... and its the only pedestrian route through the middle of the village!

make it safeFunding for the improvements to the pathway may well come from Perth & Kinross Council as part of the Kenmore Environmental Improvement Scheme, but if you would like to help the heritage centre financially or in any other way please contact Frances on 01887 830 765
